Naming the substrate no more reduces the work of God than naming the loaves reduced the miracle. When God renews a mind, that renewal has a physical correlate, because a person is embodied and always has been. The mechanism is the how. God remains the who.
Christ is the floor, not a chapter. Medicine and recovery are vocabularies that describe what God is doing. They are not substitutes for Him.
The work does not deny sin. It denies that every barrier is sin. Treating it as sin when it is sediment adds shame to a person already buried.
Past a certain depth a person cannot will their way out. Subtraction describes what healing removes. Grace is what does the removing where the person cannot.
About the national moment
In 2026 the federal government named these rooms together: government, health care, faith communities and people with lived experience. Operation Hands & Feet was built to answer the call of the Great American Recovery. The work is nonpartisan. No agency has funded, reviewed or endorsed this work.

Building on them. Nothing about the steps is modified. What is added is a naming of what they were always doing. The thing that worked, on the day it worked, was the steps.
He is not a failure and he has not failed to hit bottom hard enough. Two men come in with the same sincerity and one gets it and one does not. That difference is not moral.
The words
- Buried, not broken
- You are not broken. You are buried. What is buried can be uncovered.
- The Triple Stigma
- Failed by medicine, turned away by faith, unreached by recovery, at the same time.
- The space between
- That space has no owner. No clinic is paid to hold it. No church is assigned to it. No recovery room is funded for it.
- The wall
- The line between medicine on one side and faith and recovery on the other. They meet only at the person, by consent.
- A warm handoff
- An Ambassador of the work walks the person to the next door. Never a phone number and a goodbye.
- The Ambassador
- Each organization names its own, if it chooses to. None is ever placed there from outside.
- The held rate
- The share of people reached who are still held at six months. The one number the work exists to move.
- The symbol
- The Vector Equilibrium. An organization that connects to the work would carry it under the standard. It tells the population: this place was built for you.
